Grand Canyon National Park, in Northern Arizona, encompasses 278 miles (447 km) of the Colorado River and adjacent uplands. Located on ancestral homeland of 11 Associated Tribes, Grand Canyon is one of the most spectacular examples of erosion anywhere in the world—unmatched in the incomparable vistas it offers visitors from the rim. In the Grand Canyon, there are West Rim, South Rim and North Rim. North Rim will be closed in Winter. West Rim is the more popular with tourists where you can get a vertical view of the Canyon from the Glass Bottom Observation Galley. My current travel was to the less popular South Rim. South Rim has some magnificent views of the Canyon and will be able to catch a glimpse of the Colorado River on clear day at the bottom of the Canyon.
